Tips and Techniques

for using our Mineral Makeup

Eye Shadow: Using your shadow brush, dip just the tip of the brush into loose powder, then tap the brush on the side of the container to remove any excess powder. Brush gently on your lids, crease, or under the brow making sure to blend with a cotton swab or a clean blending brush until a natural look is achieved. (Suggested brushes: Pointed Contour Brush, Angle Fluff Brush, Chisel Fluff Brush)

Liquid Eye Liner: Using a moistened liner brush, dip the tip into loose powder. On the back of your hand mix the powder and water together to create a creamy liquid. If you are using a very thin eyeliner brush, moisten a cotton swab to dip and mix the powder to create a paste. Then dip the eyeliner brush into the liquid and carefully apply to upper and/or lower lids starting as close to the lashes as possible. (Suggested brushes: Taklon Liner Brush, Ergonomic (Bent) Liner)

Powder Eye Liner: Using a taklon or other firm brush, dip the tip into loose powder and remove any excess. Carefully apply to upper and/or lower lids staying as close to the lashes as possible. (Suggested brushes: Taklon Concealer / Dry Lining Brush, Angle Liner / Spooly Duo)

Lip Color: Dip a clean lip brush into your clear lip gloss/lip balm and then into loose powder. Apply the mix to your lips and blend well. (Suggested brushes: Retractable Lip Brush)

Nail Polish: Using a good quality clear nail polish, dip a loaded brush in loose powder and polish onto nails. You can also mix loose powder into colored nail polish to create fantastic custom colors.

Body Shimmer: Use a cotton ball and lightly touch it into the loose powder. Dust the powder onto you shoulders, cheeks, or decollate.

Foundation: Tap a small amount of loose powder onto a container top and swirl a kabuki buffer or flat bronzer brush into it. Tap the bottom handle (with the brush head facing up) of the loaded brush on a hard surface. This will settle the powder into the brush head. Firmly spread powder on clean, dry skin to evenly blend pigments. For blemishes, a separate concealer is not needed. Use a shadow brush to apply small amounts to the problem areas and blend well. For dry, flaky skin, GeoGrafx loose mineral foundation can be blended with our natural lotion or cream to create a cream foundation. First moisturize as usual, then tap a small amount of powder into the palm of your hand. Add a drop of moisturizer. Blend the two products together until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Use your fingers to apply. (Suggested brushes: Luxurious Kabuki Brush, Deluxe Buffer, Purse Size Flat Top Buffer, Flat Bronzer Brush, Lambs Wool Paddle Blender)
